Friday night football returns to Jet Park as Modbury kicks off its 2015 National Premier Leagues campaign with a home match on Friday 13 February against fellow promoted side and 2014 State League champions Pirates, a familiar opponent from our recent State League clashes.
Given the challenging season ahead, this is the sort of fixture that we would expect to secure points in, and a win here would obviously be a great start to the season. The home supporters will be looking for a positive result and most importantly, a solid performance from the players.
We last met Pirates in a competitive fixture in Round 16 of the 2014 State League where we played out a 1-1 draw at Jet Park on 30 May 2014, with Rhys Devlin netting for the Jets. Coincidentally, we played Pirates in the opening round of the 2014 season which saw a 0-0 scoreline at Pirate Park on 22 February 2014.
