Match Rescheduled to Saturday 2 May, 2015. Kick off 3:00pm.
In a ‘rematch’ of last weekend’s Westfield FFA Cup Round 2 Qualifier, Modbury take on Para Hills at home in our Round 12 PS4 National Premier League fixture.
This time its for points, and both sides will be desperate to come away with a win to ease their relegation fears. Following last Friday’s cup match, the Jets will be confident that they can outperform the Knights at home, however we know that we will have to be at our best to get the win and put our league campaign back on track after suffering a heavy defeat at West Adelaide a fortnight ago. As we found to our cost at the Paddocks last Friday, we shouldn’t underestimate Para Hills who will be up for the challenge in the northern derby and will fight hard for the full 90 minutes. Modbury will be motivated by their Cup exit and will certainly want some revenge for that defeat and should be confident of getting the all important three points.
We last played Para Hills in a league fixture when we faced off during the 2012 Premier League season (then the second tier of SA football). During that year, we beat the Knights 1-0 at home in the season opener, and 2-1 in the return fixture at The Paddocks with Rhys Devlin on the score sheet in both matches. Despite these results, Para Hills went on to win the league and promotion to the top flight while Modbury finished fifth.
