The Jets travel to TK Shutter Reserve to take on MetroStars in our Round 13 PS4 NPL fixture on Friday 15 May, 2015, with kick-off at 7:30pm (half an hour later than originally scheduled).
While Modbury had the weekend off, MetroStars squared up against White City in the Cup quarter finals where they slumped to a 1-0 loss, although their disappointment in bowing out of the competition will no doubt be tempered by the fact that they have a direct entry to the last 32 of the FFA Cup courtesy of being crowned PS4 National Premier Leagues Champions last season.
Modbury will approach the match with confidence following our solid outing against Para Hills in the last round, although facing MetroStars away is undoubtedly a different proposition. Its probably fair to say that MetroStars would not be satisfied with their progress to date, and will be looking to kick-start their season with a big result at home, however if the Jets put in a disciplined performance and show some composure in attack we should be confident of coming away with a result.
We last played MetroStars in a league fixture during the 2011 Super League season when we suffered a 10-1 defeat at home, and were beaten 5-3 away (Giacomelli, Kelly and Devlin were Modbury’s scorers).
