The Jets host Raiders at Jet Park on Friday 3 July, with kick-off at 7:30pm, in the first of three Friday night matches in July which will undoubtedly define our 2015 season.
In a rare weekend break from the football, we experienced a dramatic week following a fire in our Jet Park clubrooms in the early hours of last Sunday morning. Thankfully, the damage has been quickly repaired and our members and supporters can turn their attention to the drama on the pitch!
To say that three points is crucial for both sides is an understatement – a win for Modbury will lift us above Raiders and out of the relegation zone as we head into the final weeks of the campaign. We know that Raiders will be disappointed with their form so far this season and will be a difficult opponent however the Jets will be confident that if they play to their potential they will get the required result.
This week saw some player movement at Modbury. We welcome former Modbury juniors Tom and Ryan Strain back to the Jets after their stint in the UK with Aston Villa, while farewelling Mario Marcinko (Raiders), Chris Fleming and Luke Air (both to the Amateur League).
We last met Raiders in our away fixture against Raiders in Round 7 of the PS4 NPL when the Jets travelled to Whyalla for the Regional Round. Raiders got off to a flyer with a goal in just the second minute, however Modbury netted an equaliser through McNally in the 23rd minute, and the match finished 1-1.
