Our second fixture for the Easter long weekend sees the Jets away to White City at Frank Mitchell Park Woodville West on Easter Monday, with a late 5:00pm kickoff.
Following a lacklustre performance on Saturday against Eastern United in the Westfield FFA Cup, Modbury will need to be much better against White City to get the points on Monday. A gruelling 120 minutes of Cup football, followed by the drama of a penalty shootout, was probably not the kind of preparation that the coaching staff had in mind when planning for this match. The players know that they will need to be much better if they are to reproduce their recent league form this weekend, however there is no doubt that the Jets are capable of coming away with three points.
We last met White City during the 2012 Super League season (the then second division) where we prevailed 3-2 at Jet Park and were held to a 1-1 draw away. White City finished a point ahead of us that season, securing their promotion to the top flight in 2013.
