Modbury welcome Fulham United to Smith Partners Stadium at 3:00pm on Saturday 18 May for Round 10 of the 2019 State League 1 season.
Following a convincing away win at Playford in what could have been a tricky fixture for the Jets, a home tie against Fulham is next up. As the season nears its half way point, Modbury knows that it needs to keep up the pressure on White City by taking maximum points at home to maintain its position at the top of the ladder.
The result at Playford was important given the Patriots had already notched two wins at Ramsay Park in a pre-season friendly and a second round Cup clash this season, and the emphatic nature of the result will ensure that the Jets have the confidence to keep their momentum going. Modbury now boasts the best attack and the best defence in the league, and this bodes well for the rest of the season.
Fulham sit mid-table after nine rounds and will be seeking to break into the top six. They will be bitterly disappointed to have conceded a late winner against White City last week, however their performance will give them confidence against top of the ladder opposition.
Modbury will be encouraged by its depth this year, with the Reserves and Under 18s first and second in their respective competitions and proving excellent support to the First Team.
Modbury and Fulham met during the 2018 State League 1 season, with the Jets prevailing 2-1 at home, with Matt Gaston grabbing an 80th minute winner, and 4-1 away.
