Modbury take on Adelaide Victory at 7:30pm on Friday 20 May in their Round 11 State League 1 fixture at Jet Park.
Following the bitter disappointment of conceding two injury time goals to drop vital points away to Sturt last week, the Jets need to bounce back against Victory to keep their promotion challenge on track. It helps that other promotion contenders also dropped points in the last round, but the gap to Para Hills at the top of the ladder is becoming concerning if Modbury is to compete for top spot and automatic promotion to the Premier League. Adelaide Victory, coached by former Jets player Aaron Westervelt, will be difficult to beat however Modbury’s home form is good and in their preferred Friday night time slot, the home team should be favourites to take three points.
Modbury’s last meetings with Adelaide Victory were during the 2014 State League season where we were beaten 3-2 away (McNally and Devlin were the scorers) and were held 2-2 at home with Marcinko and Bowman on the scoresheet.
