The Jets travel south on Saturday evening for their State League 1 Round 14 fixture against Seaford Rangers with kick-off at 6:00pm.
After a convincing 3-0 win against Western Strikers last week, Modbury retain their lead in the race for the State League 1 title. Adelaide Victory’s surprise win over White City sees the Jets four points clear at the top of the table.
Seaford will be devastated to have lost in Round 13 after conceding two late goals, including a 95th minute penalty, against Sturt. Sitting fourth on the ladder, Seaford will be looking to bounce back from that result and improve their league position.
Modbury will be cautious of the challenge presented by a trip to the southern suburbs and an evening kick-off. The Jets will look to capitalise on Seaford’s defensive frailties but at the same time will be wary of their attacking threat – Rangers have scored 31 times so far this season, second only to Modbury’s 38 goals for. But the Jets defence has only conceded eight and will be looking for another clean sheet this week.
With the home clash against White City in Round 15 looming as a potential title decider, Modbury know that they need to keep winning to put themselves in the box seat at the end of the season. The travelling supporters will be looking forward to another entertaining match.
Modbury came away with a 3-1 win at home against Seaford in Round 3 of the 2019 State League 1 season. The Jets travelled to Karingal Reserve twice in 2018, prevailing in a penalty shootout in the Cup Quarter Final, and losing 1-0 in the league.
