Modbury host Para Hills in a Friday night blockbuster at Jet Park on 17 June, with kick-off at 8:00pm.
Last week’s away loss to Adelaide Hills, Modbury’s third in a row, makes Friday’s clash with traditional rivals Para Hills all the more important if the Jets are to challenge for a finals berth. While anything is possible in a local derby, Modbury will need to demonstrate a significantly improved performance to get a result against high-flying Para Hills. There’s no doubt that the Modbury players will be motivated and, as supporters will remind them, pride is definitely on the line against their local rivals. Despite the two teams respective positions on the league ladder this will, as always, be a tight contest and all three points will definitely be up for grabs.
The Knights edged out the Jets in a 3-2 Easter Monday thriller in Round 4. Modbury came from behind to equalise twice with goals from Voigt and Maio but couldn’t stop Para Hills from grabbing a second half winner.
The match will be preceded by The Slowdown at 6:15pm which will feature past Modbury and Para Hills players in a charity fundraiser for Parkinson’s SA. A bumper crowd is expected and supporters are encouraged to get down to Jet Park early – the gates will open at 5:15pm – to enjoy a great night of football action.
