The Jets return to Smith Partners Stadium for Round 3 of their Sate League 1 campaign as they play host to Seaford Rangers, with kick off at 3:00pm.
With maximum points from the opening rounds, including wins over Noarlunga and Western Strikers, Modbury will be will be confident they can carry their early season form into this fixture. Seaford have strengthened in 2019 and will prove a difficult opponent who will be looking to bounce back after a narrow defeat to Sturt in Round 2.
The performances of young players Kur, Martyn and Wallace have been a highlight for the Jets, and Modbury will be happy to see McGreevy’s golden boot winning form continue in 2019, with his goal-a-game effort contributing to a healthy six in the ‘goals for’ column. A sound defence has also been a feature for the Jets, conceding only once. Conversely, Seaford will no doubt be seeking to improve defensively after letting in six in two matches. An entertaining match should be on offer.
In 2018, the two sides met three times in league and cup, with a home league win apiece, and a penalty shoot-out victory for the Jets in the Cup quarter final.
