In Round 6 of the State League 1 competition, the Jets make the trip down south to take on Cove on Friday 15 April. Kickoff is at 7:30pm.
After a slow start to the season, Modbury needs to turn in some positive performances and start picking up vital points, both home and away. The Jets should be under no illusion about the difficulty of Friday’s fixture – their record against the southern teams hasn’t traditionally been great however there is confidence in the quality of the squad and a belief that a string of favourable results is in the offing. The Jets’ loyal supporters will again travel in numbers and will be expecting to see an entertaining match and, more importantly, three points for the away side.
We last met Cove in the league during our promotion-winning 2014 State League season where we came away with a 3-0 away win, with goals to Bowman, Devlin and Air, and were awarded a 3-0 home win after Cove fielded an ineligible player.
