Modbury host Cumberland United at Jet Park on Saturday 23 April in a Round 7 fixture, rescheduled from Friday night to avoid a clash with Adelaide United’s home final, with kickoff at 3:00pm.
After a well-deserved 2-0 away win at Cove in Round 6, the Jets need to back that result up with a win at home to third-placed Cumberland. Encouraged by their performance against Cove, the Jets will be confident that they are capable of getting the points and will be hoping that their attacking players can get amongst the goals (another screamer from Gaston would be welcomed!) A clean sheet would not go astray,
We haven’t played Cumberland in the League since the 2012 Premier League season where we were held to a 1-1 draw at home, with Shane Pearce grabbing a 65th minute equalizer, and backing that up with a 1-1 away result, with Matt Kelly (sadly missing from the side on Saturday with an injury) on the scoresheet.
