Modbury host Salisbury United at Smith Partners Stadium at 3:00pm on Saturday 13 April for their State League 1 Round 7 fixture.
The Jets head into Round 7 full of confidence after win over Cumberland last week which saw them hold on to top spot on the ladder, albeit by goal difference, ahead of White City.
In a convincing performance against Cumberland, with notable contributions from Jesse Francesca and Taylor Martyn in midfield providing a platform for goalscoring opportunities, forwards Josh Farrell and Shaun McGreevy capitalised with a goal apiece, while Martyn opened the scoring with his first of the season. Another clean sheet was the product of a sound defensive effort.
Despite Salisbury’s well documented problems off the pitch this week, the Jets will be preparing to play and will treat the match as a classic top-versus-bottom tie. While Modbury will be expected to take the three points, they will be wary of their opponent who will have much to prove and nothing to lose.
Modbury came away with a win and a draw against Salisbury in 2018, with a big 5-0 away victory at Steve Jarvis Park followed by a disappointing 2-2 result at home after leading 2-0 at half time.
