The Jets return home for their Round 7 State League 1 fixture against White City, with kickoff moved forward to 3:00pm due to the ongoing construction at Jet Park.
On what will be a sombre occasion following the untimely passing of White City reserves coach Sabino Sabatino the two sides, familiar protagonists after meeting four times in League, Cup and Finals matches in 2016, will be determined to put on a great football exhibition in his honour. We will be joining with White City to pay our respects, on behalf of the whole football community, on Saturday.
Following last weeks last-gasp win away to Sturt, Modbury will be full of confidence but they must not underestimate their opponent. After suffering home and away League defeats, as well as a reverse in the FFA Cup, the Finals Series penalty shootout win against White City went some way towards redeeming the Jets’ pride in 2016. An accomplished performance from the high-flying Jets will be necessary to overcome their opponent this week, however Modbury will be pleased to be playing at home for only the second time this season and will be looking forward to a positive result.
