The Modbury U12 JPL team headed to Queensland to compete in the 2015 Gold Coast Champions Cup.
The boys started well with a 1-0 win against Townsville. Unfortunately they lost the next two matches 2-3 and 0-3 and in the final match were eliminated following a 1-3 loss to NR Football Academy. At the end of the game the Modbury boys were acknowledged by the other coach for playing the most solid, intense game his team had played all tournament.
The boys then had free time which they spent at the theme parks and in the pool, where great memories and friendships were made (not to mention the fantastic time had by all the parents!)
Congratulations to coach Michael Gallina, the team officials and parents who supported the team, and especially to the all of the players’ families for their hard work in making the trip possible!
